January 15-16 We arrived in Deming New Mexico on Wednesday night. After the long drive and a stop at Burger King we all headed for the indoor pool and hot tub. We stayed at A Deming RV Campground, It is the same campground I was interested in buying a few years ago. After our night there we headed back on the road and stopped about 70 miles away in las Cruces. There we found a Home Depot next door to a Target and parked the couch for the day. We ate lunch at the Golden Corral and headed to White Sands National Monument. We spent a few hours playing in the pure white sand. We climbed the hills, built a few sand castles, and jumped of the high peeks to a soft sandy landing. The place was so cool, it was like being in a blizzard without the cold. After a stop at the gift shop we headed back to the rig. We stopped both at Target and the Home Depot before hitting the road, and the long drive that laid ahead. New Mexico is a beautiful state and like Arizona we will come back and explore some more of this area. Next time I would like to catch the hot air balloon show up in Albuquerque in the fall, and the Santa Fe area. God willing we will be back. |
