Hello my name is Nikole. I am seven years old.
My family and I are traveling the country during 2002 and
2003
July 2, 2002
Our first stop was at the Jean house (my aunt & uncle's house).
They have a pool in a big yard.
The first thing we did was jump in the pool. It was hot out so the water was
warm.
By the end of the day we were still in the water and my cousin J.J. was
cooking marshmallows on the grill. They where very good.
After we ate we went back swimming. My other cousin Dakotah spilt hot wax on
his fingers. He then jumped back in the pool.
When it was time for bed both my cousins slept in the R.V.
July 3,2002
When we woke up we had my moms super good blueberry pancakes (that Dakotah
did not like).
We swam the whole day. At 6:00 Lois And the 3 boys came swimming. They were
a lot of fun.
When it was time for bed we had another guest. His name was Eric.
July 4,2002
It is the 4th of July!
After breakfast we went swimming. At 11:30 Dan, Kim, Deanna, Troy,
Dustin came over. We had a cookout and did more swimming.
At 7:00 we headed for Boston to see the fireworks. When we got there my mom
saw Barry Manilow And she was flipping out. She was dancing and screaming
his name.
The Fireworks where great. They lasted about 40 minutes. The booms where really
loud. We loved them. We got home at 1:00 am.
July 12, 2002
I really liked Superman at six flags
Darien Lake. I like the Viper too. Loop coasters are fun.
My mom couldn't believe that I could ride all of Superman with out holding
on.
Me and my dad went on superman a
million times. We even rode in the front seat. We got hit by
bugs! We went on the last ride of the red train that night.
Pinky bonked dad in the nose during
praying time. I'm thankful that I got to bonk that guy on his nose.
Ha Ha.
July 30,
Sorry I haven't updated this page
lately. I have been really busy. Since the last update we went
to Niagara Falls, I climbed a rock wall there. I made it to the top 3 times.
We went to Six Flags Ohio twice. They had to much to do all in one day. mom
and dad decided to go twice. Sea World and a Water park were also part of
Six Flags.
Then we Drove to Milwaukee to see my
Uncle John and his wife to be Sherry. We got to hang out with Sherry's
Niece's. They were a lot of fun. Especially Teresa. We did a lot of
things in Milwaukee. We all went on a tour of a brewery, to see how
beer is made at the Miller Beer Factory. Then I went to my first Major
League Baseball Game. That was super cool. We saw homeruns hit and
even a grand slam.
Then we went to another Six Flags in
Illinois. Great America was cool I was brave and did a few more rides that I
never been on before. I even went on scream, a 200 foot drop. And I rode a
roller coaster facing backwards.
I have been making tons of new
friends, and the campgrounds are wicked cool. We been swimming, riding
our bikes, having campfires, and we even got to go in hot tubs.
At uncle John's we even got to ride on
Aunt Sherry's Jet ski. Boy that was fun. Dad even let me drive it. He was on
the back of course.
Today We are in Minnesota.
We went to The Mall of America. It's a Girls Heaven. I can't wait to I
get old enough to go to the mall and hang out. This one is so big it
has a Aquarium and a amusement park right inside the building. I could live
there forever. Next we are going to South Dakota. Mom and Dad say it
is a real cool state. I want to find Dinosaur bones, and also see Mount
Rushmore. (my dad updated this for me)
August 4
We are at a new campground. We
haven't gone in the pool yet. The playground has a sea saw, monkey
bar, swings, a slide and a tire swing. That's what the playground has.
Since I've been here I've ridden my
bike, I played on the playground, we went to dinosaur park, we went to
storybook island, and to Mount Rushmore. The flavors they had for ice
cream (at Mt. Rushmore) were Rushmore raspberry, u s mint, vanilla, strawberry
sherbet, they also had free fudge.
Daddy took a picture of Mt. Rushmore
in the dark. We think that it should be a postcard. Check web
shots after this date. Oh yea I almost forgot. I also got to blow up
Mt. Rushmore with dynamite. (It was fake)
Today we went to Old Macdonald's
Farm. We got to hold chicks. We petted horses and we had a horse
ride. There were donkeys we got to pet them. There were pot
belly pigs. There was a pig race. They also had a train ride but
we didn't get to go on it.
When we got home it was raining.
We had to ride our bikes in the rain home. After that we played
dominos. And that is what we have done so far at South Dakota.
Oh Yea we also went to church today.
We had fun.
The trip is well it's ok. It's
pretty neat that we get to see different things, but I miss all the people
at home. That's it about South Dakota so far.
8/8/02
Today we went to Custer State Park.
We climbed some really tall rocks there. We almost got lost we climbed
so high up. But I found the way back down. It was neat to see cars
pass under us as they went into a tunnel. We also went to Flintstones
Bedrock City today. We rode a train, and took a lot of pictures.
I even got one of mom and dad on a see-saw at the playground. That was
funny. We had a lot of fun at Bedrock. The playground was really
fun, we didn't want to leave. We also bought some power-aid there.
Zakary drank most of it. That's what we did today!
I liked South Dakota because we got
to go to Old MacDonald's Farm. I also really liked Bear Country. We
did a lot of fun stuff in South Dakota. And hopefully we will come
back next spring. Right now we are moving on to Wyoming then to
Yellowstone National Park.
8/15/02
Yesterday Zakary learned how to blow
a bubble with bubble gum. He was really excited when he first did it.
I had to teach him how. He finally got it but he isn't quite getting
it. When he pulls his tongue back the bubble gum sticks to it.
So it doesn't stick all that well. He has to blow when the gum is
crunched up. So it's stuck together.
We went to the Tetons. We saw
those. And we also went to Yellowstone. We actually got to stick
our feet in the river when we stopped. The water was cold.
After that we went to a beach that had waves. It was clear water.
(Jackson Lake) The water was not salty. Me and Zakary threw rock
in it.
I saw a butterfly laying down on the
shore. It was wet. So I put it on to a rock. Then I took a
little thin rock. I put the butterfly on that rock then I put on that
rock on to a different rock. Then we had to go to the car. And
we saw a moose. Two moose to be exact. Mommy was really excited.
She had been looking for those for a long time.
August 20
Today we washed the motor home and the
jeep. My mom she saw a car wash washer and she thought it was pretty
cool. There two things on the top that would spin around and squirt
water and there were two on the ends that spun around so it got your car
good. When me and my brother went in front we got misted. After
that when Daddy was washing the roof of the motor home he washed on
the side I stood right under the hose and got wet. After that we
went to Wal Mart.
I got two things of bubbles. I was
gonna run back and get the blue one for my brother but my mom said no.
After that I was with my mom when we were
going to get the bubbles and Zakary asked "what about your carriage?"
I ignored him. Then we went into the toy isle. We didn't know he
followed us. When we went to the cash register he stayed in the Hot
Wheels isle. He was missing for a while. Luckily mommy thought
to look for him in the Hot Wheel isle. For a minute we though he was
lost. Two people mentioned that we should page him. But mom
found him.
After that we went to McDonalds. I
got a Mighty Kids meal. Zakary got a Happy Meal. I didn't eat
all of mine.
The last campground we stayed at I really
liked. So didn't my brother. We met a nice girl there named
Colby. I gave her a rock that I put her name on. She gave us
some cards. I also gave her five 4oz. bottles of glue.
Right now we're pulling into a rest area.
And there is a Wal Mart truck here. Speaking of Wal Mart that is where I got the glue too.
That is so far what we did today.
September 9
We have started school. I am working
on cursive, subtraction, addition, and reading a little bit of science and
geography. I am having fun on my trip. The state we are in is
Oregon. Our campground is called Seaside Resort.
We had a movie called Fern Gully. We
rented it at the campground. It was funny. Especially batty.
The player of batty was Robin Williams.
Right now I am eating an ice cream cone.
It is really good.
September 17
We are in California today. It is
raining out. The last state we were in was Oregon. The next
state we will be in will be Nevada maybe.
In Oregon the campground we went to was
called Whalers Rest in South Beach. We went to the beach. I went
into the water. By accident I got the bottom of my pants wet.
Then my pants started to fall down because they were so wet. I bet it
was pretty funny to watch me and mommy walk by. She had to hold up my
pants.
Right now I'm eating an ice cream cone.
Like last time.
At Whalers Rest they had a store there and
I bought a tube of Italian Ice and a Dole Fruit bar.
It was warn yesterday then it got cold.

September 21
Zakary has just updated his page.
And we went to the beach today. Zakary found two whips we have one of
them in the jeep. If you read Zakary's page you'll see that he wrote
that.
Right now we are in California. The
next state will be Nevada. I might have already wrote that. I
think. Me and Zakary have been making puppets. I have finished
my kit. I made a dog a cat and a bear. I think the dog is pretty
cool. His shorts are really neat. I think he's really cute.
I think my brother is having fun and I am too.
Tonight we are going to have a campfire.
I had fun at the beach except when I slid
down the hill that was by the seals that we saw. They were really
neat. I got sand in my bathing suit. It was like there was a
whole bucket full of sand in my suit.
For supper we are having Jey-0 turkey and
gravy. I don't know if it will be good. I never tried it.
We are having steamed vegetables. Carrots and corn.
We got to see the redwood trees. We
missed the tree house. But my dad said we could go on Tarzan's tree
house in Disneyland. That will be something neat too I think.
I'm having a good time. That's all
for now.
September 28
Right now I am typing. It is the first time I typed on my page. I am
going to pass it to my mom.
Nikole typed all of that. It
took her a little while but she got it.
It took me so long because the TV was
on.
I'm having fun right now. We
are still in California. But in a way different campground. My
dad said we will like the clubhouse. We just got here today. It
took us a little while to get to our campground. Number 1 because we
missed the roads. We also got stuck in a parade. Everyone was
waving to us. That was pretty funny. I didn't feel like waving.
My dad said that my mom started waving first but I don't think so.
It is late at night. I think I
feel like yo-yoing right now. Right now I am going to say see ya later
until tomorrow. If I have any time tomorrow I'll write on my page.
Right now I'm going to bed and maybe I'll do a little bit of yo-yoing.

October 9
Today my dad went to the Harvester's
and brought home four bags of food for $10.00. Two of them are for
Zuma and Ed. The bags are humongous.
Right now me and Zakary are building
a train track. I had to yell at him. Because he was blowing up
one of my favorite part of the train track.
California is fun on one of the first
day we were here the pool was nice and warm. The next day we went it
was freezing. The temperature changed from spring to winter.
The hot tub was about spring even though it was supposed to be summer.
It gets cold during the night and it can be warm during the day. The
last two days it has been foggy, or cloudy for some reason.
I am having fun on my trip. We
rode our bikes to the beach. The beach we went to with our bikes
(Avila) was not fishy smelling. Grover beach smelled regular and
then fishy. At the same time we found some clams and my mom found some
whole sand dollars. That was pretty neat! That's the second
beach we went to that had whole sand dollars.
Right now I think I'm going to help
Zakary with the train track. That's all for now.
Oh yea yesterday we had a good day of
school. We went to the club house.
Last night I read Boxcar children.
They are hard to read. I can get them down though. My brother is
learning how to read. My hair is getting really long in the bangs.
It gets into my eyes. That drives my mom crazy. She is always
trying to put my hair up and I really don't like it.
Once I said Zuma and Ed. About
them they are pretty cool. They have Mexican train. My mom
freaks out every time she hears that name. She loves that game.
I like Zuma and Ed. They taught my mom and my dad a game called hand
and foot. They played that for a long time. While me and Zakary
were watching TV. That's all for now.
November 5
Today me and Zakary almost snuck the
computer but Daddy heard us. Grrrr. My brother just took a
shower. My brother asked Daddy about something that I don't know but
he scared Zakary so much that he actually cried for a little while. I
think he was faking.
Indio, California is pretty cool.
It's hot though. Too bad their fixing the pool. I would have
been in it all day long. (I really wouldn't have did it. Daddy would
have took me out.)
Me and my mom yesterday started to play
catch with a softball and a glove. Mommy said I was really good.
Today we did some more. I am really getting the hang of it.
We went to the club house. I did
some Spiro-graphs. That was pretty cool. I think I should have
done the red pen instead of the black. The black didn't come out very
good.
We went to see our Uncle Merrill. We
slept in the guest house. It was a really nice guest house.
There was a code thing to get into the house. Me and Zak would go back
and forth setting off the ding dong ding dong. Me and Zakary slept on
the floor in sleeping bags. I did not want to get out of the sleeping
bag it was too comfortable. Daddy tipped me over and dumped me out.
I think Zakary threw a pillow at me. Of course I threw it back and he
threw it back at me again. One time it hit me in the face. To
wake me up Zakary threw his sleeping bag right on top of me and the plastic
bag.
We went out to eat at a Tavern in the
mountains. My ears must have popped at least 5 times.
We had a girl car and a boy car. Me,
Mommy and Paulette were in the girl's car. Daddy, Zakary, and Uncle
Merrill were in the boy's car. I had a lot of fun visiting them.
We went to this Italian restaurant. The sauce got all over my nose.
I ate my spaghetti in 5 minutes or less. At the restaurant when I was
finished with my pasta I told two jokes to Uncle Merrill and Paulette.
That was pretty cool.
Here is the one that I told Paulette.
No peeking to the answer until you try to guess. What tool does a
carpenter use that you can spell the same both ways?
A level!
That's all for now I can't think of any
more. Oh yeah Zakary is just about to read Daddy a book.
November 18,
Today we went for a bike ride. And
right now I am eating an orange. Zakary and I got in a silly fight
over a game of tic tac toe. Then is a few minutes me and him got over
it. We started playing with track pieces. We pretended they were
swords. Zak had about three pieces. One flew off at he tried to
hit me. Then he lost anther. Finally he was down to one piece
and we had a sword fight. I said whistle wind because when we were
swinging the track pieces it was making a whistling sound. Then I
started building a track and we played with it. That was fun.
Last night or the night before we went to
McDonalds. There they had a play place. Have you ever heard of
video games in a McDonalds play place? They had them there too.
Me and Zakary ride our scooter on the side
walk things here. It's shaped like cement but it's more like big
blocks of side walk. Now we ride our scooters with our stuffed animals
hanging on tight. We give them a ride too. They have fun.
My brother just yelled. Bobby is filling up the pool.
January 17
We are now in Texas. We are only
staying at this campground for a couple of more hours. We didn't do
anything!
My last update got wiped out. You
probably didn't hear about my birthday. I want to thank ever single
one of you that sent me a present. Like Memere and Pepere, Uncle John,
and Aunt Little Michelle. I had a fun birthday. I went to
Chuckey Cheese again for my birthday. It was fun. I invited two
kids from church. Miranda and Mariah. Their little sister Myah
came too. I didn't invite her. I gave them Kelley dolls for
sharing the day with me.
I am drying my Barbie's hair it is very
wet. We just took her and Ken into the bathtub. (Ken's head keeps on
falling off.) We are having fun. I think I say that in every
single paragraph I've written.

January 27
I am entering a contest! You have to
write a book and illustrate it. I made a book called The Girl Who
Didn't Want To Do Anything. It starts off with a girl named Nikole who
doesn't want to color, paint or play with her brother. She took a nap
then that made her feel better. Then she
colored, painted, and played. She still had fun but she still wanted
to write a book about a girl who didn't want to do anything.
I had to change the book. I only had
58 words. My mommy said I had 59. First I tried to make
the paragraphs longer. I couldn't do that I still didn't have enough.
So I though of a way to make more words. That's how she had fun that day
came up.
The grand prize is a computer. It
comes with reading rainbow disks, book and DVDs. I hope I get that
prize. But the second prize is just as good. It is a DVD player
with DVDs and books. The third prize isn't as good as the rest but it
is still good. It is DVD's along with books. You get one set for
you, one set for you school, and one set for you library.
Right now my brother is taking a shower.
He's been bad all day long. And he peed all over the seat in the
bathroom. My mother just cleaned that toilet too. She made him
clean it again. Boy has it had a good cleaning today.
I am having fun on my trip. Did I
tell you that I am in Texas now. Well if I didn't I am. You have
to look out for the alligators here. And don't swim in it or you might
just have a leg taken off.
My mom thinks my brother smells good he
just came out of the shower. My father is calling Zakary Slick which I
don't get.
I'd better run cuz he's getting a little
crazy.

February 20, 2003
We are leaving Louisiana and going to
Alabama. Tonight is the last night we are going to stay at this
campground.
My brother is trying to attach the fan to
the computer even though my mom said no. We watched a movie tonight.
My dad has been working on computers here
in the campground. He is helping a person right now. We had to
tape Survivor. Just before we watched a movie we came home from dinner
in the club house. The only thing I ate on my plate was ham. The
rest of it was scalloped potatoes corn bread, that was really salty, and
peas. Yuck! I hate peas!
My brother is really mad because mom
yelled at him. Just by his face I know it but he's saying he isn't.
I went to the playground today. They
waited three whole days until they cleared it. A man said they broke
the chain saw cutting down the tree. We brought our Kelley dolls to
the playground. We saved some wood at the top of the playground.
One of the parts of the playground. Today they finally cleared it away.
Then they chopped it up.
My mom and my brother are having a fight.
Zakary has an angry fight. A little fight. Yuck! They just
kissed.
The stump of the tree had a lot of sap in
it. We brought home some of the tree we had saved at the playground.
Yesterday we pretended we had dragons. I got Zakary a sword from the
tree and Zakary fought the dragons with it. My dad burned it in the
fire last night. I saved it once but my dad burnt it anyway. I
found him a new one today. But it had sap all over it. It looked
like clear jelly. Sometimes I wish I had sandpaper to smooth it out.
It wasn't all that smooth.
You know how I said I brought the Kelley's
to the playground? They got dirty cuz it was all muddy around them.
We had to give them a bath. Both times Tommy got mud on his clothes.
Two different outfits. The first day we fought dragons the second day
we just played around.
We went to a space center one day.
My dad made me do it. It was ok. We ate there. I had
chicken. Cluck cluck.
We went to a Mardi Gras parade. We
got at least I don't know how many beads. They are in necklaces.
We sent some home to JJ, Dakotah, and Caitlyn and Doug.
My brother is drawing on my white board.
