Wyoming page

First stop Yellowstone.  Our first night in Idaho we went to explore some of Yellowstone.  We drove up to the Mammoth Hot Springs.  That was a awesome site, especially the drive to the Springs.  We explored the area for a hour and a half.  The short cut road back to West gate closed at nine p.m. for construction.  We missed that time by fifteen minutes and had to drive around the park just to get to the right road.  It ended up being a three hour drive in the dark.  I think we drove through the whole park.   We had to go by way of the Canyon Village, past Yellowstone Lake, by Old Faithful, then to the West Gate.  It was a really long drive. 

The next morning, we drove back in to see Old Faithful.  That was a really interesting place, to see once in a lifetime.  We are not to sure if we would go back or tell anyone to go to Yellowstone.  We much liked Custer Park back in South Dakota.  Anyway on the way in we picked up a young guy walking to work in the park.  He worked at Old Faithful Inn, and we were heading that way so we gave him a ride.  We broke our rule about hitchhikers, but the Lord told me to say stop and give him a ride.  He was on a work program for the summer.  He is from Siberia, Russia.  He was very nice, and his English was pretty good.  His name is Anton Nastavnikov, and we hope to hear from him and see where his journey of this country takes him.

After Old Faithful we headed for The Grand Tetons.  We all agreed The Teton Range was much better.  On the way into the park we stopped at a waterfall.  The kids and Michelle had fun dipping their feet in the cold waters.  A little further up the road we stopped and enjoyed a lake at the base of the mountains.  Then as we were heading to Jackson Hole Wyoming we spotted some moose hanging out on a island on a little pond.  While there we meet a family from Westboro Ma.  It's a small world after all.  We stopped for dinner at a Taco Bell In Jackson Hole before heading back to the campground.  As we were driving back through Idaho We were on this really cool road.  The way it was made reminded us of a roller coaster ride.  We all had fun, and really enjoyed a good laugh.

The next morning I did a few loads of laundry while everyone slept in.  There was a full size Laundromat right on site. I did 3 loads wash and dry for $6.00, not to bad.  When I returned we all prepared to leave our campsite and move on to the next. We meet a few really nice people while here in Wyoming and we hope you all will keep in touch.  Thanks to all of you for the encouraging words of wisdom.
