2003 JANUARY   FEBRUARY  MARCH  APRIL  MAY

May 5,

It's amazing how little time there is to spend on this computer.  Every time I sit down to type there is a disaster that needs my immediate attention.  It's as if the only time I have is when everyone is sleeping.  Tonight is no exception.

May 17,

It's Saturday and we are relaxing at Aunt Donna's again.  She is at the beach for a few days so we are dog sitting Cosmo.

We arrived early this morning around 2 am.  Traffic in New York was horrible.  I was really glad Ron was driving.  It took a conscious effort to relax my neck muscles at certain moments.  I thought we were going to hit a wall at one spot.  It was really tight.  We are thanking God for our safe journey.

Our current plans are to enjoy a week or so here.  Go into Washington and see the historic monuments and the Smithsonian.  Go to Six Flags once or twice depending on the weather and enjoy a little down time just the four of us.

Long range we hope to purchase property in the Myrtle Beach area of South Carolina, God willing.  It's a starting point.

May 22,

Our time here in Maryland has been great.  We haven't been doing much but our time together has been nice.  There are lots of kids here in Aunt Donna's neighborhood.  So Nikole and Zakary have been out playing with all the kids.  This afternoon we had a wiffle ball game.  There were about 12 kids ranging in age from 4 to 13.  It was a lot of fun playing with them all.  They are all very polite.  I think they enjoyed having adults play with them.  The game ended when Ron hit a foul tip and the ball went into the drain.

May 31,

Things here are really hectic. I'm really tired of looking for houses. I truly believe most people will only actively look for houses for so long and then they will buy the best out of the 35 they look at because it's just too exhausting to keep looking. I'm wiped out. We have been ad hunting for 8 days now. The poor kids think they live in the jeep. We have been driving a 35 mile radius from Myrtle beach and have found many acceptable properties but no big hands down winner in my opinion.

Today we went new house shopping. I think we've found a builder we can live with. We'll see how the financing goes. It'll take some number pulling and explaining but I think we may be able to work out purchasing 2 new properties with no money down. If we can find a decent couple to rent the townhouse 5 blocks from the beach we'll end up in really good shape. We will be living in Conway which is the first major town west of the beach. They are developing a town closer on the other side of the intercoastal waterway but those developments are too snug for my living. Ron says if your neighbor sneezes you can hand them a tissue. It's true the houses were really close. It reminded me of the neighborhoods in California.

The weather here has been perfect. We did have a tornado watch yesterday but it only rained for a little while. It was windy but not really bad. Other than that it's been in the low 80's with a breeze so the humidity hasn't been a problem either. The first two day's were the worst. Now I guess we are used to it.

The kids picked up boogie boarding. We try to get them to the beach everyday. It's hard on them driving around looking at houses. We are so mean! Last night we ended up in the pool. The ocean here is about 60 degrees. There was one day it must have been 70. Even Zakary is going in so you know it's warm.

We went to a huge church today. It's the Myrtle Beach Community Church. They had 1800 members at last registration. It felt too big to me. The guy who was in charge isn't called a pastor either. It just said his name. He wore jeans and sneakers and everyone was in shorts and a polo or Hawaiian shirt. We walking in on week two of dealing with pain. They spoke about how everyone wears a mask. The kids enjoyed their day. They played games and they learned what to do with worry. I was surprised that they presented it as "when you worry" I try to teach the kids not to worry and to have faith in God. I guess I never thought about my kids worrying. I mean they don't express fear and when they do (like during a thunderstorm) I am quick to tell them God has our best interests and He is protecting us. I don't know. I just didn't get the hey this is where the spirit is flowing feeling. Maybe it's just that it was so large that it was overwhelming and we walking in on something they are working on as a church. I don't know.

Well, it's pretty late. I sort of took a nap at nine o'clock and woke up when the music next door stopped. The silence woke me up!
